I believe this is the best sports game out there. Graphics and game play is excellent. It is taking awhile to get the pitching format down, but it is coming. This aspect of the game really makes it challenging. Only complaint I have is setting up a controller. I use the Logitech Rumble pad and I can't get the game to save my settings. Got used to the settings it wants me to use instead. Haven't played online so cannot comment on that aspect. Overall, very good game and worth the money spent.

Update: Forget the PC version of this game if you intend to play using keyboard controls, like we did. This games works with the x-box-style game controller. The Amazon price for this game is a reasonable $20, but add $50 or more if you, like us, did not have a game controller. So...get the game AND a controller. Then prepare to spend time in the game's tutorials learning how to pitch and hit. Once you struggle up the big learning curve, you will enjoy the game. However (and here's our original review for keyboard version of game): For keyboard users, it's a lousy manual, with no indication of how to start, no tutorial or instructions within the game menu -- at least on any screen/menu we can access. And as a previous reviewer stated, you get easily sucked into a cycle of menus/screens from which there is no escape. Many of the keys that are defined in the hugely inadequate manual (pamphlet?) do not operate. Poor troubleshooting in the pamphlet. Big disappointment. Graphics are much better than those on Backyard Baseball, but at least Backyard Baseball runs easily on Vista and XP. But game play improves greatly with a good controller. Final Conclusion: Avoid the experiences listed in our original review by getting a good controller. Then ... Play ball!
Best ever baseball game on the PC

This is the best baseball game I have ever played on the pc. I've been stuck playing baseball mogul for the past 5+ years, which is alright since I like simulation games, but you can't actually "play" that game. This game is a vast improvement from the garbage 2k has put out in the past on the pc. If you have a good pc and you are willing to spend $10 on a Xbox 360 controller then I recommend this game if you are a baseball lover like I am. The graphics are great and the game runs really smooth. The stadiums are gorgeous and I love the Twins new stadium...Target Field. The best part about this game is the new "My Player" feature which is really addicting and has kept me up late at night several times. The only thing I would complain about is the inaccuracy with some of the player ratings. For example, Sabathia is the highest rated pitcher in the game and Halladay is rated lower than Jake Peavy and not much higher than Rich Harden. Also in the My Player feature there were at least 15 pitchers who had over 20Ks in a single game and Andy Pettite had set the major league record for strikeouts in a game with 27 lmao. But other than that for $30 this is a great buy...a steal in my opinion.
Ridiculous game

This is one of the worst sport games that I have ever bought. The so-called manual leaves much to be desired. No detailed explanations on how the game is to be played, and after calling support they directed me to the website to get answers when I clicked manual - ah the same one that comes with the game. Little info on how to pitch, and no info on how to get online. When I did find a tab for online you are supposed to put in your CD ID which I tried many times, and got the invalid message. If I couldn't write a better manual than this I would get out of the business.
Get The Most From This Game on The Steam Version

First of all i tried the PS3 Demo , and i found it ok but frustrating . The reason being is there arent any options to change any settings .
And as an avid Baseball fan who loves Baseball Game Sims , i play a ton of Baseball Games ( World Series Baseball ,95,96,98 , MVP 2003 AND 2005 , High Heat and Allstar 2004 .
So as a parent and especially as a Fan i like to have ( FUN ) when i play by myself or with the Guys...otherwise i wont have a reason to pick it up again .
I have MLB 2K9 for the PS3 , and its ok , but needs work on the options settings . So i thought...ok look at the reviews see whats on peoples minds here ...look around to see what is more upbeat in forums about this game etc .
What i found is the game seemed enjoyable to play on the PS3 , and the PC Version looked promising too .
Then One night , i went to [...] and was playing my Bioshock game there one evening .Browsed the Online Game Store and WOW, WOW , WOW
This game is near 20 Bucks on Steam , and with High Graphics ....Cool . So i paid my 20 Bucks , Downloaded my online content ....took awile even on high end DSL . Defragged my system ( Auslogics Free Defrag from [...] ( RECOMENDED ) .
Just to be upfront , im a typical gamer , i cant afford an Alein PC ...or anything remotely High End . Heres what I have on My System :

Review : This is way better than My PS3 . This Game runs very top notch on Steam . The Graphics Loaded Automaticallly On 1260 x 1020 to match my desktop settings
and that was on the first start up from the get go . I have a logitech Dual action game controller ( not recomended as... it works , but pitching is a bit gempy at times and doesnt respond to the left stick analog well resulting in wild pitches , and makes me say curse words frequently like " Oh shmick " ...lol .
While reading others reviews i found its recommended to get the XBox controller which i have ordered as well as the Logitech dual rumble pad . Yet besides all that this , game is so smooth on what im running and i have to attribute that to the Steam Engine . If your not familiar with Steam ....It works Like this........You download part of the game Content online and Steam Keeps the rest on their server . When you play the Steam engine interacts and bonds the two togethor for a very fast smooth gaming experince that equals a high end system . The settings options are better this year and very easy to click to ( hit Numbers Keys on the keyboard ). If you need a game guide i think there is a PDF one to download somewhereon there .
Game Sliders are easy to customize too , and the camera settings for the Batter as well as the Pitching is very realistic .
Overall i really like this version and look forward to more games to play ....maybe i can get my Rangers in the Playoffs ...if they cant do it themselves this year .
In any case Download Steam For free at [...] ...and check out this great priced baseball game . Read the [...] Forum before you buy .
